Sony new life, new ideas for designers. And as at the time of the Xperia S, it's pretty cut and yet undeniably successful. Some smartphone models have a design that is not going anywhere, people like it, others hate it. Here we have a black rectangular block almost perfectly: it could hardly be more refined, and we must admit that it works. Xperia Z is beautiful.
At the front, there is therefore a smartphone with thin edges, covered with a protective film by default, Sony used a few years now. Note that this film is somewhat paradoxical: if you remove it, you remove the logo. Yes, Sony has made a € 650 smartphone but not etched logo on the top: it is stuck in the foil. We contacted the press office confirmed to us that it was a choice and strongly discouraged Sony remove it: So what is a protective film if it is not removed when it is worn? Mystery, especially since he still wears rather quickly, micro-scratches appeared on the film from 5 days of use.Having said that, pleasant discovery, without the logo, Xperia Z is enhanced. No, really. By removing these letters on the front, we are left with a smartphone perfectly bare, clean up, making it even more desirable. He will not fail to catch the eye of your guests who ask for sure what gear it is because they can not distinguish anything informative to the front. As this Xperia Z is waterproof, all openings are obstructed, the connectors can be found in so caches. We found a MHL microUSB port, a microSD slot, a SIM card slot and headphone port. We'll have to get used to the camera: taking microSD is indicated by a small logo, but the others are all perfectly black. Worse, the covers are so well integrated into the shell it took several minutes to find the microUSB port, hidden in a corner, almost invisible. Design or ease of access, you had to choose - the rest is a matter of routine use.
One can not help noticing, however a disappointment in this ocean of praise: the smartphone is very beautiful, but unfortunately very dirty all the time. The dust is attracted to the machine like butterflies on the lamps in the summer, and you'll rarely Xperia Z clean. Fingerprints are also present, both the front and back, which reinforces this impression. It's a shame: this is perhaps one of the best Android smartphones that we could have before, but also the one who had to receive treatment oléophobiques driven at least everyday dirt. Pity, pity, you will have to invest in antistatic wipes ...
