- Review 2013: Sony Xperia U Test
Monday, 18 March 2013
For the price, this is an excellent smartphone. If you want an Android device cheap, look no further!
Sony Xperia U is a cheap Android device with a lot of punch. We are familiar with it, and here's our full review. Sony can he win the market medium / low-end with the Sony Xperia U? This market is already more or less saturated, but see if there is room for more equipment
The curves have been replaced by very sharp lines and angular, with very defined angles. Sony also seems to use better quality materials, which is yet another reason to prefer the company as a manufacturer independent.
Xperia U is made of plastic, but despite this, it still seems well built and is well in hand. We prefer the look of the Xperia S, but we must admit that the U is also very well done.
The touch screen is relatively small, which suggests that there is a little too much "frills" around. This course also helps to look "raw" device
Although all three phones Xperia have a transparent plastic strip at the bottom of the device, the Xperia U differs somewhat. The control buttons are indeed equipped with LED lights that illuminate according to the color scheme you have chosen.
Another unique design is the transparent cap below, which can be removed and replaced with caps of color. The model we tested was a white man, and was supplied with a default white cap (it was possible to replace it with a yellow cap, supplied in the pack).
Conceptually, this is not a maivause idea, but the colors are a bit too loud, and with LED lights, it's a little too much. You will like it can be, after all, but we would have preferred something a little more sober.
Nova-Thor.
The graphics capability is managed by a GPU Mali-400MP.
This combination is surprisingly bright and responsive, the touch sensitivity is excellent, the navigation through the different screens is smooth, and the applications and widgets running smoothly.
The resolution is 854x480 pixels with 280 ppi, which is not bad for a cheap model. The image is sharp with good brightness, and Sony Bravia makes things even better by offering excellent contrast, deep blacks and rich colors.
But we're not sure what happened with the Sony Xperia U.
The camera is not bad, and offers many useful parameters, but the pictures look blurry and washed out. The videos are also bad.
To be able to offer a sale price moderate, it was necessary that Sony make compromises somewhere. Obviously, this is the camera that made the fresh ...
Sony Xperia U is running Android Gingerbread 2.3 with Timescape user interface from Sony.Sony has done an extraordinary job of optimization, and navigation is very nice.
Certainly, in our opinion, the design of the interface is a little cluttered, noisy and intrusive, but there are some neat additions such as a widget very smooth control system that allows you to control Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Brightness Information, sound / vibration, GPS, sync, airplane mode and Wi-Fi
There is also an application of the kind called Audacity TrackID, as well as access to the EA Store Games and various services for Sony music, games and movies.
It may not be Ice Cream Sandwich, but it is definitely a good experience Gingerbread.General use
Sony Xperia U is a small phone fast and pleasant to use. The journalist who wrote the test used a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S for some time, and he found that there was a real improvement. Fans of the previous Xperia devices will undoubtedly be impressed.
The device is lightweight, it gives an impression of strength and it is very easy to carry a phone that you want to be. The display is ideal for viewing multimedia and games.
During our test, we have had no problems or traffic congestion slow
If you are not necessarily a fan of the Sony interface, Timescape, you may be hard to get used to. If this is the case, we recommend that you install something like Launcher Pro.Conclusion
We were pleasantly surprised by the Sony Xperia U, which provides a coherent and effective package we strongly recommend consumers looking for a good Android device at a reasonable price.
The device will cost about 270 euros without subscription, which at first glance may seem a bit expensive, but actually proves to be a good deal (when you compare with other devices meem price).

Aesthetic
Sony Xperia devices are coarser, thicker than were the Sony Ericsson. This style is by Sony Xperia U and suddenly seems very sturdy and solid

Hardware
Sony Xperia U uses a dual core processor ARM Cortex-A9 1GHz chip with ST-Ericsson U8500

Display
The screen 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen is a bit small compared to many other handsets currently on the market. This is a LCD with LED backlit multi-touch four fingers and scratch-resistant glass.
The resolution is 854x480 pixels with 280 ppi, which is not bad for a cheap model. The image is sharp with good brightness, and Sony Bravia makes things even better by offering excellent contrast, deep blacks and rich colors.
Camera and video
Imaging technology is one area where Sony has a high degree of expertise, thanks to his pioneering work on the backlit CMOS sensor (BSI), which absorb more light than the basic sensor
